Turn Turn Turn
I remember listening to this song playing on Dad's reel-to-reel. It was the 70's. I had pig-tails. Dad was young and skinny and very busy flying helicopters...
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven
A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep
A time to build up,a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together
A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing
A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time for love, a time for hate
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late
And now Dad is sleeping off the chemo from yesterday. We never know where the turns will take us.
Life is always changing. We are always changing. And what gets me is that if we can expand our comfort zones big enough to encompass the turns... to be OK with the changes that occur, no matter how hard they are... then life becomes this blessed journey.
I am grateful for the turns in the road today. For the challenges that may lie ahead bring me closer to the truth of who I am. Who we all are.
What are the turns in your life showing you?
